About Me

My photo
We got married October 23, 2010 and our sweet baby boy was born July 2, 2012. We have been remodeling our "new" home since January 2010 and I have documented the entire process, and will continue to do so.

Coming Soon….

1. A BABY!

We’re expecting our first bundle of joy to arrive in the beginning of July, just a little over 5 months from now!

Here is a pic at 11.5 weeks, Christmas morning. I don’t really look pregnant at all.

And here is a pic from tonight, at 15.5 weeks. I almost didn’t post this because I think its horrible! I can’t believe my chest. Ugh! Every day at work someone makes some kind of comment about my boobs getting bigger, even the Alzheimer’s residents have pointed it out!

So far I’m still down 4 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight, but I’m feeling A LOT better than I did in November and December. Eating and cooking grossed me out, I still can’t cook a meal for us. Thinking about food made me gag (still does sometimes) but I’m getting better. I’m not as tired and the past two nights I didn’t wake up to go to the bathroom at all. So hopefully every day will continue to get better for me!

I have to say that Craig has been WONDERFUL during this whole experience. He has been taking such great care of me and is doing anything he can to make sure I’m ok, make sure I’m eating, make sure I’m getting enough protein (I can’t eat meat right now for some reason), etc. I can’t wait to see how he is with our baby!!!

2. If we’re having a baby, we need a nursery!

The room is full of junk now, but I’m excited to get going on redecorating. We’re definitely repainting, I don’t like this color anymore. I’ve been researching gender mutual nursery ideas because I think we’re going to let the sex of the baby be a surprise. We’re still not sure though! Decisions decisions!

3. FINALLY re-doing the upstairs!!!

Hopefully this doesn’t take too long, we’re planning on starting on it next week, maybe this weekend. Its going to be A LOT of work. Hopefully we don’t have an underlying mess after we tear everything out. My dad will be doing all new wiring. There is only ONE light and I honestly don’t think there are any electrical outlets. Hopefully we’ll have it looking brand new in no time! Or at least by July!

The upstairs is divided into two sides. Both sides are old and gross.

My aunt and uncle just bought all new privacy fencing for their back yard, so we bought their old fencing from them. Hopefully this spring we’ll get to put it up. Until then, it will sit in the garage:

SO- We have A LOT of projects to get done in the next few months! Hopefully we will be able to stay motivated and get everything done and ready before Baby Hick arrives. And I HOPE I will be able to get my vegetable garden out again. It may not be as big as last year’s because I won’t be able to tend to it as much, but I do want to do a little something!

  4. Oh how exciting! I've been waiting for this post for a while now. Congratulations to you and Craig! I think gender neutral nurseries are the way to go. That way if/when you have another child you can use the same things. Let me know what colors you choose to go with so I can get started on crocheting some baby things for you. I also have a white bassinet and a carseat that we used twice once to get home from Cardinal Glennon and once Ito take the boys back up there for follow up appointments. It's a Cosco Scenera that goes from 5 lbs to 40 lbs. We ended up buying other carseats for the two littlest ones because we needed to put 3 children in the backseat of our Saturn. I decided to not go car shopping for a replacement for the van until after I am able to drive again. If you want either let me know and we can drop it off the next time we go through your town.

  5. Jealous of your boobs. Lots of work to do but you'll get there! We had to redo two rooms and got all new carpets when I was pregnant.. sucks cause you can't help all the time.. but sometimes that's the best part. Ha. I think I want to make a garden this year. Brandon is all about it. You'll have to give me some tips!
